Driven by compassion and relentless advocacy for her clients in negotiations and courtroom defense, Julia Stancil is exceptionally experienced at winning cases at the trial level. She has been lead counsel in more than 60 criminal jury trials – most resulting in full acquittal or convictions on lesser charges. Her philosophy is that being prepared and not afraid to litigate is the best way to achieve a dismissal or other favorable resolution.
Nearly all of Julia’s legal background has been in courtroom defense. She began her career as a senior deputy public defender practicing in Denver, Boulder and Broomfield Counties for nearly nine years. During her tenure as a public defender, Julia was lead defense counsel for a full range of felonies, including first degree murder, complex sexual assault, intricate economic crime cases, internet sex crimes, offenses involving child abuse and sexual assaults on children, DUI and traffic cases and habitual criminal charges. She has since gained experience practicing in Federal District Court in Denver, Grand Junction, and Casper, Wyoming on various wildlife, outfitting, and gun-related charges.
Julia has also taken her courtroom litigation skills into the family courts to defend motions for permanent protective orders, motions to restrict parenting time and motions to modify parental decision-making. High conflict family cases are often related to criminal accusations and Julia believes it is highly advantageous to have one law firm handle these concurrent issues as they arise.
Julia Stancil’s wealth of trial and litigation experience is coupled with her compassion and tireless support for her clients.
What clients say about Julia Stancil:
Julia was hired to defend my son-in-law in a serious criminal trial. Because of her ability to communicate, knowing the law and how to articulate it in a court setting my son-in-law was found not guilty. I would definitely hire her again. Julia’s rates are also the best as far as I am concerned.
Julia recently represented our son at trial. She did an excellent job and was able to easily refute anything thrown at her. She was much more than an attorney. You can tell it is not a job to her; it is her passion.
